From Chinese martial art to wholesome exercise, the key to improving the quality of life.
Taijiquan originates from a form of unarmed combat, based on the ancient Chinese tradition of using the Qi (energy from breathing) instead of purely muscular power. Taijiquan is now taught as a means of improving health, focusing on the correct posture of the body.
The movements are very soft, slow and round, with calm breathing. You will learn to channel your energy to create balance, both physical as mental. This leads to the gracious, meditative slowness of the exercise. By exercising taijiquan this way, back pains resulting from an incorrect posture are alleviated, the circulation of the blood is improved without putting stress on the heart, your body will become more flexible, you will gain a better sense of balance and your concentration will improve. By increasing your vital energy, your Qi, you will start feeling calm and more confident. The quality of your life will improve, because both your physical health and your mental balance improve.
